KYE

KYE - Press Shot.jpg

It's barely been 12 months since KYE formally introduced herself to the world, but she's already won over audiences with her celebratory, sun-soaked sound that effortlessly bridges pop and R&B.

Since her emergence, KYE has amassed over 1 million Spotify streams and garnered playlist support from triple j, FBi Radio, MTV and more, earning praise for her “warm, inviting vocals all giving an Erykah Badu meets Andre 3000 vibe” by The Guardian, “a wildly jagging yet effortlessly
coherent introduction” by NME Australia, hailed as “enchanting” by The Interns, “heart-rendering” by Sniffers, “a special talent” by Pilerats and “innovative” by Purple Sneakers amongst others. KYE closed a whirlwind 2021 with festival appearances at Ability Fest and Beyond The City in
Melbourne, and has kept momentum going with support appearances on both Young Franco & Genesis Owusu’s national tours in early 2022, leading into her own Good Company EP National Tour throughout March.

Cool Out Sun

Since their recent conception, Cool Out Sun have been turning heads all over the country. Their debut single "Fire For (Fire Four)" rocked the airwaves earning attention on Triple J, Triple J Unearthed, FBI, PBS, and Triple RRR radio, whilst the stunning visuals had living rooms turn dance floor. In October 2018, the outfit released their highly anticipated debut LP, and the wind began to change... and with 2023 upon us, the group are busy crafting a new record of Cool Out Sun gems. Cool Out Sun is a creative project composed of the super powers that are N'fa Jones, Sensible J, Nui Moon. The beats provocative, the lyrics powerfully imaginative; the outfit were playing major festivals before the release of a single track... Their stunning debut LP displays the groups creative diversity and freedom featuring guest artist Lamine Sonko. The collective invite a range of artist's influences including percussionists, Lamine Sonko, Neda Rahmani, and Kwame Tosuma to collaborate during live shows, diversifying an ever-changing line up, and seasonal soundscape in World/Roots/Hip Hop music.

VOLI K is a soul-infused singer + songwriter + performer. A First Nations artist originating from Fiji,
VOLI has called Australia home since a young age. He’s faced some life challenges - born albino & termed legally blind, but the physical insecurities around his identity would eventually become his super power. Whilst temporarily lost, VOLI was found emotionally through his early exposure to soul and gospel influences ... the kid drummer connecting within his community church. VOLI has collaborated with some great producers including Jerome Farah (Baker Boy, Tash Sultana, Kian, Tones & I), Cyrus Villanueva (CXLOE, Client Liaison) and the legendary Charles Fisher (Savage Garden, Hoodoo Gurus). His featured singles include “Never Alone”, “Hello” and “Joy”. VOLI’s music and lyrics are inspired by love & hope – his dynamic live performances have seen him labelled “The Ambassador Of Good Times.”

"Bette Foord is a disabled Melbourne musician with a ukulele and some stories to tell: Some haunting, some funny, and some to warm your heart.

Bette began songwriting at a young age and uses many different themes in her songs including love, loss, online dating, sex, disability & even food.

Recently, Bette has had success on Atomic radio's Top 20 Countdown, with her songs being played Australia wide.

Looking like a 50s siren, sounding like a modern day boss bitch - you're going to want to take note of her!"

About Us

Groove Tunes is an inclusive night of live music for everyone to enjoy, held at the renowned Corner Hotel on June 3rd 2023.

To make sure everyone can get involved in Groove Tunes, the night will be supported by a team of Auslan interpreters and volunteers. We’ll also supply braille tickets (on request) and sensory space! Check out our FAQ page for more on accessibility options. Please contact our helpful team at groovetunes@outlook.com.au with further enquiries.

1 in 5 people in Australia are living with a disability. From a survey Tibi Access (creators of Groove Tunes) conducted in 2018, people living with a disability expressed their love of attending live music events, however fear and lack of access are commonly expressed as reasons that stop them from going. We hope Groove Tunes not only creates an opportunity to attend a live music event but encourages the broader music industry to make live music more inclusive for everyone.
